Whether a single machine or dedicated virtual data centers (vDC): we host and support your Linux infrastructures and the open source applications running on them.
Wherever possible, we manage all machines reproducibly and consistently with Ansible and our LFOps framework. For monitoring, we prefer Icinga2 with our Monitoring Plugins. In existing environments, however, we are equally happy to work with the tool stack you already have in place.
Security by design means for us: a multi-layered setup with central firewall and reverse proxy, hardened and minimalist installations, strict firewalling, SELinux, automated patching as well as backup, monitoring and logging. For higher security requirements, we implement modern security standards such as CIS or HIPAA. Our mirror servers help with consistent patching of test and production environments. Backup strategy, patching cadence and RTO/RPO are encoded in the LFOps roles we deploy and can be inspected on github.com/Linuxfabrik/lfops.
The size of your environment does not matter to us. Thanks to automation and integrated monitoring, we scale up or out as soon as it becomes necessary. You do not need to submit a list of systems or licenses in advance, we bill according to actual effort. If you run into issues, you reach us through our Service & Support Models via chat, mail and phone. All from a single source.
In a private, dedicated vDC, you get the supporting systems required for operation exclusively: central firewall with packet filter, reverse proxy with TLS termination and Web Application Firewall (WAF), infrastructure server for DNS and NTP, FreeIPA for authentication, and Icinga2 for monitoring. Backups land encrypted in an external object storage. As a base, we rely on Rocky Linux with a CIS-compliant partitioning scheme.
Hosting takes place with state-of-the-art Swiss providers with data centers in the country, billing is based on resource consumption. We prefer to host private clouds and vDCs with:
We rely on Hetzner if location is not important to you and you want to run your infrastructure as cheaply as possible.
A private, dedicated vDC is future-proof. Additional servers from your on-premises setup or from other clouds can be moved into the same vDC later without disruption.
Do one to three VMs cover your needs, or do you only have smaller requirements? Then we place you in our Shared Hosting vDC at Infomaniak in Switzerland. Ideal for individual applications such as Nextcloud, small web servers or dev environments. You pay only for your own VMs and share resources like internet access, central firewalls and reverse proxy with other customers. Your VMs and your data remain strictly separated, no other customer can access them. And when your infrastructure grows, we simply migrate your machines into your own dedicated vDC.
The cost of operating your application is the same in both variants. With the Shared Hosting vDC, you save the cost for the exclusive base machines of a private, dedicated vDC.
Prices are not flat rates, the VM size determines the monthly costs. Hosting a Linux VM with 1x CPU, 2 GB RAM and 20 GB disk starts at under CHF 10/month, depending on the provider. Example for an instance with 2x CPU, 4 GB RAM and 200 GB disk:
We bill installation, service and support based on effort and the chosen service model.
You already have your own infrastructure, whether on-prem or in a cloud? We host and manage there as well. It does not matter to us who set up the systems, how many there are, where they run, which Linux they run or what kind of software runs on them.
The scope of management can be freely agreed, from operating individual machines to a full takeover. On request, the same parameters apply as with our own vDCs: proven architectures, hardened systems, automated deployment with Ansible and LFOps as well as continuous monitoring with Icinga2 and our Monitoring Plugins.
